The PNWGP is committed to providing the research, education, medical, and commercial organizations of the Pacific Northwest with leading edge and super high-performance Internet capabilities, along with access to National LambdaRail, Internet2, and next generation Internet R&D testbed activities.
The deployment of the PNWGP will enrich the region by
- ensuring access to the highest performance local, regional, national, and international Internet infrastructures
- leveraging opportunities for research and grant initiatives
- providing a new technology and application incubator environment for innovative commercial products and services, new tools and content, and advanced network applications in medicine and education.
In addition, the PNWGP's strategic location in Seattle, along with its extraordinarily powerful array of connections and sophisticated data exchange architectures, will allow affordable, efficient connections to world's emerging, state of the art networks and services.
